Winter will be here before you know it, whether you like it or not (pun intended)! The cold weather will mean all sorts of problems for your skin if you are not prepared. So, without further ado here are our top 8 items you need to keep in your bag this winter!
The cold weather can be TERRIBLE for your skin. Your lips are one of the most sensitive areas of your body when it comes to cold wind and weather. So, be prepared to avoid chapped lips by keeping an extra chapstick in your handbag. The moment your lips start to feel dry, reach into your bag, and apply!
The cold air can also be a nightmare for the rest of your skin. Most of your body is going to be protected from the cold wind, but your hands and face are often exposed. Carrying hydrating lotion in your bag will be crucial to preventing cracked and painfully dry skin.
If you live somewhere that gets a lot of snowfall, you need sunglasses. Snowblindness can make driving or even walking around on a sunny day difficult, so keep an extra pair of sunglasses in your bag. Who said they are only for the summertime?
Honestly, this should be in your bag all year round. ATMs, handrails, doorknobs, subway armrests… YUCK! It is not realistic to wash your hands after touching everything in public and with COVID-19 and the regular winter flu, it is super important to keep your hands clean! Pack a few of these in your purse, and you’ve got nothing to worry about.
A hydrating serum is great to carry because a hydrating base is essential during the colder months of the year. Hyaluronic acid holds 1000x its weight in water and makes an ideal lightweight way to help keep your skin hydrated this winter.
Just because it might be cloudy and cold, it doesn’t mean you don’t need sunscreen! We often don’t notice that our skin is being exposed to the elements, leaving it more susceptible to damage. Harmful UV rays can still penetrate through clouds. So, protecting your skin with an effective SPF is crucial all year-round.
We don’t have to explain this. It is always nice to have some tissues on hand to wipe your nose, or just to use as a protective layer between your skin and a railing or ATM machine. If you aren’t already carrying tissues in your purse, you’ll thank us.
Last but not least, keep your daily multivitamin in your purse so you never forget to take it. With the cold weather it is easy to get sick, so make sure you do your best to keep your immune system in tip-top shape.
